My clinical experience has allowed me to work in a variety of settings including partial hospitalization, community mental health and private practice with individuals from diverse populations. I particularly find meaning in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, existential issues and grief and loss. I have extensive experience working with those that use substances in an attempt to cope with the effects of those events.
Trauma and adverse life experiences can lead to changes in perception of the world, self, and others. It is my role as a therapist to provide a safe environment where challenging topics can be explored and clients can connect with the wisdom that already exists within them. I am a believer that the person coming for services is the expert in their own experience and has the ability to be their own healers. My therapeutic style is based on collaboration, respect, and curiosity. Some of my intersecting identities are:
I am a bicultural first-generation Polish-American – I am a female first responder by day and a culinary adventurer by night – I am a Chicago native and Chicago lifer – I am an advocate for removing systemic barriers to access care - I’m an LGBTQ ally and advocate
